Speech Contest

Our group will talk about Speech Contest. At first, I will talk about information. At NUFS, Department of British and American Studies holds English Speech Contests in every November. There will be three contests 1st, 2nd and 3rd 4th year. Moreover students in any department at NUFS can participate. Limit of Speeches will be about 3 minutes in length and the topic will be related to an international theme. Each participant will receive a certificate of participation and a money prize to buy books. The three best speakers will receive a certificate, a book voucher, a special plaque, and trophy photos.　If you want to take part in it, you have to apply in June.

By the way, NUFS helds other contests too. Department of English and Contemporary Society holds Interpretation Contests. Department of French Studies and Chinese Studies hold Recitation Contests and Speech Contests.

Japanese traditional foods

I will talk about Japanese traditional foods. The cuisine that develops originally in the country and the natural climate of Japan is called Japanese food and it is using a familiar food material of Japan. Recently, many kind of Japanese foods are known in all over the world. In addition, foreigners like to eat them. I introduce my favorite Japanese traditional food.

Sushi is the food which combines vinegared rice , fish and shellfish. There are many kind of sushi and everything tastes good. Moreover, soak in a soy sauce and wasabi is tastes better. So when you come to Japan, please eat at once.

Tempura is the food which deep fry vegetables and fish and shellfish in tempura oil. The feature is to be able to eat food material of season and coating is crunchy. Eating tempura often has an opportunity for us and easy to cook but it’s a high calorie food. So be careful eating too much.
Japanese traditional food’s popularity is raising, so Japan should advertise food culture in all over the world.

Les Trois Glorieuses

Les Trois Glorieuses is held from November 13th to 15th. at Bourgogne in France.
Bourgogne is famous for wine so, people of all over the world come there. In addition, the town gets used to the atmosphere in a festival. A point worthy of note is an auction.
Hi! I’m Shinnosuke. I’m talking about parade. The band goes along a main road. It is full impact. Moreover, this parade makes us fun by performing a dance in native dress, a drum and fife band, a street performer, group of a folk dance, jazz band and so on.
The town is festival fever so, all of people take delight.

World Heritage of India

We introduce about Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. It is name of a railway in Mumbai. It’s old name was Victoria Terminus. Mumbai suburban railway and another long distance railway have come to Mumbai. It’s name is very long, so it is called CST or VT by the citizen of Mumbai. It was registered by UNESCO World Heritage in 2004.
Next, I introduce about structure of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The station was built in1888. It is a Venezia Gothic style and magnificent building. It can see uniting Gothic Revival construction of the Victorian age and traditional construction of India. This station is proud of surprising progressive structure and technological such as railway construction of 19 century.
I’ll talk about history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The station was designed by Frederick William Stevens, a consulting architect in 1887 to 1888. It take ten years to complete, and was named Victoria Terminus for the Queen and Empress Victoria. But it was changed its name to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus for Maratha king. He was king of India in 17 century. On 2 July 2004 the station was nominated a World Heritage Site by the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO.
We can use this station to ride in it. So, if you go to India, you should use this station!

Nagashima Spaland

Good after noon everyone. My name is Shinnnosuke Ishikawa. I introduce Nagashima’s Fireworks. It is considerably beautiful and powerful. The most important thing is that the famous a fireworks in Japan is changing places every week but launch time is short. I recommend to see it at the riverside because in amusement park is very crowded.
Conclusion:　We researched the history of Nagashima Spaland ,Attractions, Jumbo Seawater Pool, Shopping Mall of Nagashima Spaland and Fire Works. It takes about 45 minutes from Nagoya by car, so We can go easily.In Nagashima, there is a history and attractions are so exciting. In addition, when summer comes, many people come there and enjoy in the pool. Moreover, there are many shops too, for example food, clothing, furniture and so on.
